Mincemeat Squares

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 squares chocolate, melted
1/2 cup moist mincemeat
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
powdered sugar

Directions: Cream butter with sugar. Add eggs, beating until fluffy after each addition. Melt chocolate over hot water. Add mincemeat, salt, nuts and flavoring. Sift flour and measure. Combine all ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Pour into a shallow, well oiled 8 inch square pan that has been lined with waxed paper. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Cut in squares while hot, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Notes: This brownie recipe has been in our family for over 60 years and our family continues the tradition.
