Cashew Casserole

2 lbs. ground beef
2 chopped onions
1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup sliced ripe olives
1/2 lb. processed American cheese
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons sherry or water
12 oz. fine noodles
1/2 cup cashews
1/2 cup chow mein noodles

Directions: Brown beef and onion; drain. Put mushrooms, olives, cheese, soup, sour cream and sherry in saucepan; heat and stir well until cheese is melted. Cook noodles; put noodles in 9x13 inch pan. Add ground beef; top with sauce. Bake, covered, for 45 minutes at 325°F. Ten minutes before done, uncover and top with cashews and chow mein noodles.

Notes: This freezes well. It may be put into two 8x8 inch pans.
