Mexican Lasagna

1 lb. ground beef
1 package dry taco sauce mix
3/4 cup water
26 oz. jar thick and chunky salsa
8 uncooked lasagna noodles
2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
4 oz. can chopped green chiles
1 (small) sliced onion
sliced jalapenos (optional)

Directions: Brown ground beef, drain and rinse, add taco mix, salsa and water, cook together for 10 minutes. Put 1 cup of meat mixture in bottom of 9x13 baking dish, place 4 uncooked noodles on top of sauce add 1/2 of remaining sauce, 1 cup shredded cheese, the green chiles, 4 uncooked noodles, remaining sauce, sliced onions and remaining cheese. Optional add sliced jalapenos on top. Cover tightly with foil and bake 375°F, 1 hour Allow to set for 10 minutes before cutting.

Notes: My husband makes notes on my recipes and this one is rated A++ he adds extra jalapenos to his servings.
