Spaghetti & Meatballs with Garden Squash

1-1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 small green pepper, chopped (optional)
5 - 7 saltine crackers, crushed
1 egg
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1-1/2(15 oz) can water
1 teaspoon garlic
2 - 3 medium squash

Directions: For meatballs mix ground beef, onion, green pepper, crackers and egg. Form into balls and drop onto heated skillet. Cook on medium heat until no longer pink. While meat is cooking, prepare sauce. Stir tomato sauce, water and garlic together in a medium size mixing bowl. Pour sauce over meatballs when meat is cooked through. Slice squash over meatballs and sauce. Cover with skillet lid. Simmer until squash is done. Serve over spaghetti noodles.

Notes: This is a great one dish meal.
