Finger Lickin' Spareribs

6 - 6-1/2 lbs. country-style spareribs
1/2 cup apple cider
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon celery seed
3 cups water
3/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 lemon, sliced thin
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup light brown sugar

Directions: Brown spareribs in a large frying pan (do not flour). Add apple cider and water. Simmer covered for 1 hour. In another pan combine all sauce ingredients and simmer for 2 to 3 hours. Let ribs cool in liquid long enough to skim off excess fat. Remove ribs and drain. Lay drained ribs in large casserole dish, cover with sauce and bake at 300°F for 1 hour.
