Noodle Medley

1 pound hamburger
1/2 pound bacon
1 (medium/large) onion, diced
1 (medium/large) green pepper, diced
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
salt to taste
1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans
12 (8 oz.) can diced tomatoes with juice
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1/2 (6 oz.) can olives, sliced
1 (12 oz.) package lasagna noodles

Directions: Fry hamburger, onion and green pepper, adding onion powder, chili powder and salt; drain. Fry bacon and keep 2 tablespoons grease. Boil Lasagna noodles, broken in l to 2 inch pieces in a 6 quart container with a little salt; drain. Add the hamburger mixture and bacon with grease. Add drained kidney beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and olives. Bring all to a boil, turn to low and let simmer for 1/2 hour.

Notes: This is one of those recipes that's even better the next day. This recipe belonged to my Grandmother and was one of the family favorites. It takes a little time to assemble, but well worth it.
